City of Corvallis Social Service Funding

Overview 

The United Way of Linn, Benton & Lincoln Counties (United Way) announces the release of the 2026–2027 City of Corvallis Social Service Funding – Category 2 Request for Proposals (RFP).

This funding opportunity supports essential social service programs that address community needs and improve the well-being of individuals and families living within the City of Corvallis.
Since 1987, the City of Corvallis has allocated funding to support nonprofit, public, and governmental organizations in addressing local community needs. United Way serves as the administrator of Category 2 funding and is responsible for overseeing the application, review, and award process. Annual funding is distributed in accordance with City of Corvallis Social Service Policy. 

*The year 2026 is also known as Year 2 of the 2025-2027 Biannual Budget for the City of Corvallis
Social Service Policy

Eligibility 

​Organizations applying for City social service funding must be recognized as a non-profit by the Federal Government with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status certification or be a governmental or quasi-governmental agency.

There are changes to the 2026 Corvallis Social Service Fund Application Process, read carefully before applying.

New to this funding cycle, the City of Corvallis has established two distinct funding categories:

Category 1 – Coordinated Homeless Response Office (CHRO)
Focused on new, expanded, or improved homelessness services, including measurable increases in sheltering and housing outcomes.

Category 2 – United Way
Focused on general social services, including ongoing programs that address basic needs and community well-being this can also include maintaining homeless services.

United Way administers, reviews, and awards Category 2 funding.
The Coordinated Homeless Response Office (CHRO) administers Category 1 funding.

⚠️ Important:
Applications must be submitted to the correct category. Applications submitted to the wrong category will not be reviewed or reassigned.

Which Category Should You Apply For?
Organizations should carefully review the intent of each category before applying.

Apply to Category 1 (CHRO) if your project:
  • Expands or improves homelessness services
  • Seeks to increase shelter or housing outcomes
  • Focuses on reducing unsheltered homelessness

​Please submit your question(s) related to the 2026 Corvallis Social Service Funding beginning on April 15th, 2026 and no later than 11:59 PM on April 25th, 2026. General questions, related to category 1 and category 2 can be submitted at the link below. Questions will be reviewed by both the Coordinated Homeless Response Office and United Way and responded to no later than April 29th, 2026 by 5 PM. All questions and answers will be posted to www.CorvallisOregon.gov/SSF and to the designated United Way web page.

Information and Q&A Session

The Coordinated Homeless Response Office and United Way will host a joint virtual Information and Q&A Session for interested organizations on April 23, 2026 at 2 pm. This information session will provide guidance in determining which category your organization should apply for and time for answering questions.
